Baby Point

Baby Point babies

WACH operates the Baby Point program, a well established, well known, year round program specifically for qualified parents. Baby Point is a non sectarian, non profit 501(c) (3) sponsored program that seeks to help low income parents to care for babies in a hygienic and healthful way. It was initiated in 2006 as an outgrowth of Turning Point’s services to assist struggling families with the needs of infants and young children.

The Makepeace Neighborhood fund fully funded the program start up, and has been a predominate source of funding through out the eight year history of the program.

One central element of the Baby Point program is providing free diapers and gently used clothing to parents who can demonstrate financial eligibility. This includes the following, Mass Health or WIC card, food stamps, unemployment benefits or any public assistance with a current letter of eligibility. Participants must also provide a photo identification, proof of residency in the towns of Wareham, Buzzards Bay, Marion, Mattapoisett, Middleboro and Rochester.

If Baby Point clients have other needs they are connected to a Turning Point staff member who can be of service to them. This program is appropriately designed to meet the legitimate needs of our community.

Baby Point hours of operation are as follows: 9am to 1pm on the third Thursday of each month at the Church of the Nazarene on Rogers Ave, Wareham Ma. The clothing room in the church is open during the same ours so the parents can outfit themselves and older children,
Volunteers and donations are always welcome and appreciated.
